Exterior Transformation

Driving up our street last night, I rounded the corner, caught sight of the house, and literally gasped. What a difference paint and cedar shake can make!

First, for those of you who thought we were painting the house light blue: that was the primer! Second, we're still deciding on the trim color (it's between three shades of white...and exactly as mind-numbing as you would imagine it to be). And finally, we have to decide on the stain color for our cedar.

Here she is!

Lovely, huh?

So other things on our fairly immediate punch list:
  • We. Have. Got. To. Choose. Our. Tub. That's basically how the builder has put it to us.
  • Exterior trim and stain color.
  • Concrete stain color.
  • Reviewing the bid to refinish our main level floors. You know, while we're out of the house and all. It's not a sure thing, but it's an I sure want to thing.
  • Light fixtures.
  • Interior paint colors. I would prefer all shades of gray inside. Which reminds me, I promised to do a post on the fabulousness that is gray.
  • Whether we want sliding glass panels or a hinged glass door in our master. This is actually related to the tub decision we have yet to make.
Some recent decisions we made:
  • Dual showerheads in the master shower. Yeah, baby!
  • Finalizing where all the cable/internet lines will go.
  • Removing the awning from the back roof over our deck and instead finishing that gable end to match the rest of the house (with cedar and brackets).
  • Actually admitting on this blog that we had an awning on our back roof.
More pictures posted too!
